The “top dawg” of TDE, Kendrick Lamar, recently revealed some new cover art. He declared it as “new music,” while some are referring to “i” as just a single. Either way, we can expect some new-new from K Dot as he briefly discussed the follow-up to “good kid, m.A.A.d city” in recent interviews.
“You’re only as good as your last piece of work. So now it’s about what’s right now and me putting that same 110% that I did with the last one,” Kendrick said back in June about his new album.
He also Tweeted this bit of news:

B*tch don’t kill my VIBE?
Well, from the look of things, Spin Media Group has decided to lay off 19 positions at VIBE Magazine earlier this week. The layoff was due to Spin Media Group’s decision to end the print edition of the famed magazine.
“If we’re not going to be putting together print pages anymore and designing print, we really don’t need those design platforms. We really don’t need the capacity to negotiate with printers,” CEO Stephen Blackwell states. The decision wasn’t entirely unexpected however as the NY Times reported in April of 2013 that the company would convert to an online-only platform.
Even though many say “print is dead,” it is not the end-all of media publications. Brands are surviving, reviving and thriving digitally these days – and it will be no different for VIBE. “VIBE receives 6-7 million unique visitors per month online and has a combined 1.4 million followers on Facebook and Twitter,” says Blackwell.
Essentially, one aspect of the publication is dead but the VIBE brand lives on. And while many other media outlets will continue to follow suit, it is not the end. Journalism is evolving with the times and has found its new home on the World Wide Web.

“Awareness for #NationalSuicideDay”
An amazing visual artist, part-time activist, full-time genius; and someone I feel honored to call one of my close friends. Over time “The Robot” has released a full fledged archive of artwork that has not only helped to expand his already burgeoning fanbase but has also allowed his cult following to help develop with him & partake in his acute brilliance. Gallardo’s greatness stems from pieces that simply, but cleverly, streamline pop cartoons from their flamboyant overtones back to their guttural roots, all the way to new age social examinations that help evoke thought at its’ rawest form.

Boston-bred MC, SPNDA, is 1/3 of the Hip Hop group, Retrospek. The group actually received XXL Magazine recognition when they released their “15 Boston Rappers You Should Know” list in 2013. Still an active member of the group, SPNDA has also taken it upon himself to release music as a solo artist.
His latest offering this Summer was his single “Gold Plates,” which premiered on popular Hip Hop site, HipHopDX. Prodcued by fellow Retrospek member, Rah Intelligence, “Gold Plates” boasts a futuristic sound that is far from both artist’s musical norm – boom bap.
The single is also one of four tracks that didn’t make the cut for SPNDA’s forthcoming album, “Light Skinned.“
“The EP itself is made up of song that did not make the cut for the album but I felt like I shoud share them with people anyway, ” says SPNDA.
And with that being said, here’s the Hip Hop appetizer SPNDA put together before the main course is set on the table for a Mid-Fall release.

After new video footage from an elevator camera surfaced this morning, Baltimore Ravens terminated the contract of running back, Ray Rice. Prior to the release of this footage, it was unclear what happened between Rice and his wife, Janay Palmer. Initially, NFL Commissioner, Roger Goodell, suspended Rice without pay and fined him for “conduct detrimental to the NFL.” But after seeing the violent behavior of Rice in the TMZ-released elevator surveillance video, Ravens finally decided to release Rice.
If this video had not been shown, Rice would have gotten away with a mere 2-game suspension – which he served in the first two games of the season. Even then, the league received a lot of criticism for their “weak” punishment for domestic violence cases. The only video footage they were exposed to at the time was one that showed Rice dragging an unconscious Palmer out of the elevator.
“We requested from law enforcement any and all information about the incident, including the video from inside the elevator. That video was not made available to us and no one in our office has seen it until today.” – NFL Senior VP of Communications, Greg Aiello

“Alright- quiet on the set, because we’re about to get wild in here..”
You can’t go wrong with a project that shares the same name as your favorite porn category.
Awful Records’ Father maintains the momentum of his previous hit, Look at Wrist, by releasing a new album featuring heavy-bass infused, trap influenced instrumentals and a few of Atlanta’s rising flames including ILoveMakonnen, Key, Ethereal and more!
Father’s demeanor defies and dismantles the definition of typical Atlanta’s rap demographic with a slightly syrup-slow, monotonous delivery that remains malleable, merging and morphing with inviting, self produced instrumentation.
Stand out sounds include Fake AF, Why Can’t I Cry $$$ and the addictive title track!
Take a Listen below.
