Greedmont Park Takes A Stroll With MTV Reality Star & Rapper, Shwayze

If the entertainment industry was a high-school, Shwayze would be the cool kid. Gliding through clique to clique effortlessly and bagging a few ladies in his travels, he would be the only kid who could wear crocs and not get clowned by everyone because of a cute smile and the bomb house parties. Yeah, so it makes sense that the cool kid would give the fly stoners also known as, Greedmont Park, a exclusive interview where we talk about what exactly the W’s mean, porn, and being a new father.
It’s cold in Georgia and we’re experiencing a snow threat, and I’m scheduled to chat with Malibu-native, Shwayze. Excuse the humor of God, but notice the elation that I experienced when I found out the news. Shwayze was a underground artist marketing his stoner, beach bum lifestyle with Cisco Adler helping out with production and writing which spun a nice lapse of b-boy come on’s and mellowed rock hooks that led to underground buzz that was due to their breakthrough hits “Buzzin’” and “Corona & Lime”. In that daze, they garned attention from their MTV reality television series that documented the highs (both kind!) of Shwayze and his musical partner, Cisco Adler.
Shwayze post-pone a scheduled massage to talk to Greedmont Park about his new project that you can download now called “The W’s”, a trip through what Shwayze knows best which is weed and women. “It’s easy, chill, stoner type music. We went back to it, kept it real basic. Weed and women [...] we did it in four days in Malibu. Just to give our fans something, a preview of what’s to come.”
Shwayze is going back to the basement of the house that the magic was originally created in soon to create his newest venture with Cisco Adler. “We’re recording the whole record in March [...] We want to go all over the place. We want to talk about love.” The contemplation of getting shiny on us was there; he talked about renting a house in Hawaii for the sessions, but decided the humble route was the best fit for the California dreamers. “We need to do it in our backyards like we always done it.”
For all his lover boy ways and stoner antics that people might assume of Shwayze, he’s seemed to calm down or atleast he is more mature. He reveals to Greedmont Park exclusively that he is a father . “I’m a new father, he’s two months old. His name is Hendrix [...] my son was born two days before Jimi Hendrix which is a complete coincidence.” A friend informed him of the eerie name choice and date mash-up not too long after the baby was born. He’s taking his new-found maturity a step further by getting other artist’s music the backing it needs to reach the masses under Feel Good Music.
It feels like the world is in need of Shwayze, with the intense going-ons in Egypt and America’s economic strife; feel good music is definitely in order. Shwayze seems like the right man for the job, he’s still looking towards collaborations with Mary J. Blige who he fell in love with as a intern for MCA Records and Damien Marley. “I want to collaborate with everyone.” Greedmont Park asked him what his ultimate greed, something he couldn’t live without was and his immediate answer was weed, but upon discovering Dame Dash responded similarly, he dug a bit deeper. “I gotta have my computer! I’m a DJ, so I’m always digging for songs, I’m always looking for porn”, he laughs. Shwayze is currently prepping for a American and European tour and his new E.P., “The W’s” is available now for free download.
If anything’s true about Shwayze, it’s probably two things: He raps and he loves his fans. With saying that, he agreed to answer a few questions from his fans on Twitter.
@
ImtheGreg: Did you sell the broke ass Benz with the dents?
Shwayze: Yes, I did. I just sold it a couple of months ago. It took me forever to sell, no one would buy it.
@distant_ahole: Will you be my Corona & Lime?
Shwayze: If she will be my main squeeze.
@weedking42000: How much do you smoke day?
Shwayze: I don’t smoke as much as I use to. I use to smoke all day […] I had to add stuff to my weed. Maybe two or three times a day.
