For those who don’t believe that noon is way too early a time to drink, you can stop by The Mercantile today to taste and learn about the July Wine Club selections. Lauren DeLuca of Lolo Vino will be at the tasting table, and you’ll sample a Chenin Blanc from South Africa, a California Sauvignon Blanc, and a Cabernet Sauvignon by Paul Cosentino.

ID is required to sample the wines.

Today, Studioplex in Old Fourth Ward has been transformed into an art festival/ gallery and studio crawl cleverly dubbed Studiofest!
The event combines an open-air artists market with a craft beer and wine tasting, plus all of the galleries, salons, businesses, and artists working in Studioplex will open their doors to the public. Good eats will be provided by the folks at Serpas True Food, and the organizers are raffling off $400 in prizes from the event sponsors and participants.

Movies Under the Stars is presenting family friendly films on a giant 36 foot outdoor movie screen in historic downtown Stone Mountain. Bring your lawn chairs and blankets to join us for a great evening of free family entertainment. Movies begin at sundown, so come early for pre-movie fun!
Bring a picnic, or you can consume the concessions that are available for purchase. This is a free family event with free parking, although donations of canned food items will be collected at entrance to benefit local food banks.

Hosted by the author of Bereolaesque, ARTlanta represents a strategic and social movement aimed at unifying culture, art, and trendsetting within a unique experience connecting to the best of Atlanta’s art world. The event is FREE and will provide a unique display of exhibited and interactive art while stimulating the senses of taste, touch and site through Hotel Indigo’s exclusive landscape of luxury and design indulgence. Artists include Brandon Sadler, Fabian Williams, Miya Bailey, and more. The event is for patron’s aged 21 and up and an RSVP is required for admittance.

Following a live stage show filled with burlesque and comedy- amongst other things, the Plaza Theatre screens the horror classic Creature from the Black Lagoon- in 3-D, as part of the monthly Silver Scream Spook Show. Filmed in 1954 under the direction of Jack Arnold, Creature from the Black Lagoon was one of the first Universal movies to be released in 3-D and supposedly this is the last time that a print of the film will ever leave the studio…
