The most talented Saul Williams is now streaming his 5th studio album MartyrLoserKing via NPR’s First shortly ahead of its scheduled January 29th release date on FADER Label. The forthcoming album features a dope collab with Emily Kokal of Warpaint that was released a few months back, Haleek Maul and is produced by Justin Warfield of She Wants Revenge. Written and recorded between Senegal, Reunion Island, Paris, Haiti, New Orleans and New York, it is a multimedia project that includes a graphic novel and a musical. Pretty excited about this project considering it was due out late last year, but better late than never.
Hopefully we get a chance to reach out to Saul for an interview before the release, definitely want to get his take on the political approach Kendrick Lamar is taking with his new material considering Saul has been taking that angle his entire career, and we all know the Grammy’s are coming up, a couple ATL homies are nominated (where Saul Williams attended Morehouse College), but it looks like we might see Kendrick take them all. Now in 2016 Saul is a few days away from releasing the seminal body of work where his unique musical and political ideas combine to form MartyrLoserKing.
