The movie is about 6-year-old named Hushpuppy, who’s father is becoming emotionally unstable and increasingly ill, as he fights to maintain their ramshackle home, along with the rest of the precarious community of the area known as the Bathtub. Performance artist and musician Cousin Dan, who has grown quite popular for his whimsical performances and music, was shot leaving 97 Estoria in Cabbagetown around 3 a.m. Friday morning. According to the narrative provided by Atlanta Police, Scoggins was approached by two hooded black males in the bar’s parking lot as he opened the driver’s door of his car. One of the men said, “what’s up with it,” according to the statement, and fired 3 or 4 shots at Scoggins, striking him once in the right side of his back. The shot apparently chipped the top of his hip bone and exited through the side of his stomach, according to Scoggins.

Scoggins managed to get in, start his car, and drive out of the parking lot in reverse to escape. Police said three bullet holes were visible on the left rear passenger door of the vehicle.

Surprisingly she allowed the children to play on her sculpture. The amusing incident led to an idea, and her work has since become much larger and fun. Adding color, size, and interactivity, her work soon transformed from sculpture to public art and finally to playground. The playground pictured here is hand knit by MacAdam and located in Tokyo.

Hip-hop duo MellowHype, comprised of rapper Hodgy Beats and producer Left Brain, just released their music video for “Break,” a track off of their latest album Numbers. The video’s highly repetitive nature and inverted colors make it almost mesmerizing – the pair can be found juggling soccer balls, and throwing basketballs, Supreme baseball mitts, tennis balls, and copies of their album high into the cloudless LA sky.
