Wara From The Neighborhood, Brooklyn born, Atlanta raised, represents a different time in the city as well as its new energy. Imagine if Ronnie from “Menace to Society” still took her son Anthony and
moved to Atlanta as they were planning to do just as Kane was shot dead at the end of the movie. Who would little Anthony have grown to be? Wara speaks from his perspective, maneuvering through melodies like a young gold-mouthed Shawn Carter with the funk one would expect from an outcast and the “take no shit” disposition of a dude with attitude. Recognizing the beauty in ignorance, Wara has shown commitment to honesty, creativity and substance in his music, assuring his growing audience a bright future of solid but difficult to categorize street tunes, provocative visuals and maybe just maybe some growth of his own.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr… no, not the NASCAR guy (R.I.P). This Detroit duo is actually Josh Epstein and Daniel Zott. Back in June, the band released their debut full length album, It’s a Corporate World. The sound is similar to the Beach Boys and full of good vibes. You can check out these cool guys tomorrow night at Drunken Unicorn in Atlanta for $10.

‘t know if I’m losing my mind or something, but this song is kinda dope. Maybe it’s because the beat is oozing a Waka Flocka feel, or maybe it’s because her flow makes you want to do your best Lil B cooking dance. This D.C. based rapper, Kelow, is doing something a little different and swaggin’ it out. I”m pretty sure there will be a lot of comparison to Cali’s Kreayshawn…but check the video and listen to her flow. Kelow’s EP, Colored Pencils,is set to release July 21st.

Japanese studio Jun Igarishi Architects created an incredible dwelling located in Hokkaido, Japan. House O is a single story residence made up of rooms that resemble building blocks… for adults. The minimalist approach, black exterior, and lack of windows make the space look like a top secret building in the middle of the countryside!
