Bandos To Billboards: Migos ATL [Interview]

Monday, June 10, 2013 by | No Comments | Category: Entertainment, Interview, Music, Rap, Video

Contrary to popular belief, there were never boys on the window. Just boards. The Migos, Atlanta’s three man trap band, can attest to such. This summer their southern slurs have slathered the streets, and it’s almost impossible to escape their horrifyingly hypnotizing bass infused tunes and semi-automatic flow structure. Though loosely constructed, each song is bound together by customized concepts that glorify being a “young, rich nigga.” Join Greedmont TV as they shadow the Migos, unveiling the origin of their name, necessities of every Bando and their favorite marijuana strains. Angela

Could you decipher the difference between aggravation and exhaustion?
I was still tired from the night before, annoyed about the sun beating down so hard at such an early hour, my feet were killing me, and I didn’t know whether to dance around or cross my legs in order to hold the urine inside of me.
I did a bit of both.
The dirty concrete floor that I stood on wasn’t helping my case, but I couldn’t take another moment in those pumps.
He wouldn’t have a welcome mat of some sort outside of his apartment door. What did I expect?
I’ve finally come to the conclusion that select people are on an entirely different time clock than the majority of human beings. There must be some sort of chemical imbalance that alters their personal perception of instance, because there is no way that these people could have any idea of what time it may be, yet just totally ignore it’s significance. RaSaan

I lay in bed facing the ceiling, scantly clad in dark blue Ralph Lauren boxer briefs.
Sunlight crept in through my bedroom window, lighting it up inch by inch without permission. Another day was about to begin, yet I wasn’t even sure if I’d completed the previous one.
I hadn’t gotten much sleep last night.
When did I ever, though?
Amongst enjoying my break between degrees and mixing drinks on late nights at The Strip, I didn’t have much time for shut eye. I didn’t want it. As far as I were concerned, I could sleep when I was dead.
A stranger lay next to me facing the opposite direction, still sound asleep. I glanced at her figure, naked and clandestine beneath my down feather comforter. Her smooth milk chocolate complexion complimented its creamy hue. Her long, thick black hair flowed over a mountain of pillows like a waterfall.
I hoped she didn’t get any make-up on them. It was a bitch to get off. (more…)

Oh, Shit! – [A Short, Shitty Story]

When you gotta go, you just gotta go.
With a frantic jerk to the right, I pulled my car into Murder Kroger’s parking lot and drove toward the front of the store. It rained all day long, and the sky finally seemed like it was ready to cease it’s downpour at dusk. Drops now arrived in a soft drizzle at a speed where a windshield wiper wasn’t required.
The perfect parking spot (closest to the store- right before the handicap reservations) awaited my entry, and I swear I didn’t notice the conflicting sign until I pulled all the way into it.
The foreground of the picture of a stork holding a baby in it’s mouth stated, New and Expectant Mothers Only.
At that moment I damn sure felt like one. (more…)

What’s the Worst That Could Happen?

Sean Fahie will be hosting an intimate evening of reading from his debut novel, Things About Women; And Other Short Stories I Seem to Forget tonight at MINT Gallery (636B N. Highland Ave). Shenanigans begin at 7PM! BYOB.

I got a chance to read the book about a month ago, and it changed my life. More of a compilation of honest thoughts than a sequentially flowing story, Things About Women could be the manual to life (and love) that many have once sought. In addition, an affordable price of $2.99 doesn’t leave a dent in your account.

Check below for an excerpt from Sean’s first book, Things About Women; And Other Short Stories I Seem to Forget!

High-DRO-planing with CNN – [Video]

Saturday, February 23, 2013 by | 1 Comment; | Category: Entertainment, Video

CNN may have just posted their best piece of investigative journalism in years. In the following video, three drivers of varying ages got incredibly high on marijuana and test-drove cars around a course. A driving-ed instructor accompanied them to avert any chance of an accident, and police watched from the sidelines to spot any visible ‘signs’ of inebriation in their movements.

I’ve always been one to enjoy the feeling of driving while high. I pay more attention to details of the road and everything (including my speed) seems to slow down. In addition, traffic becomes tolerable! I feel like most would drive more safely, plus it could prevent road rage!

The volunteers — a young daily smoker, adult weekend smoker and elder infrequent smoker — proceeded to test escalating levels of stupor against the new baseline ‘legal limits’ in Colorado and Washington state. They had to reach excesses of 5 times the legal limit before their ability to drive became impaired. In most cases, the danger they presented was driving too slowly or with frequent hesitations.
