Though seemingly morbid at first glance, Candy Chang has taken a phrase that many may not like to regularly ponder about, and created a message. On the wall of an abandoned home, a team worked with Chang to create a mural that would coax people into stopping and taking a moment to consider what may really be important in their lives.
It read, Before I die I would like to _____________.
Chalk was left behind to provoke thought, emotion and expulsion.

This is intense. At first glance I thought, “Don’t let this be what I think it is.” It was. Artists can now go straight from pen on paper to digital. The innovative people over at Wacom will be releasing this bad boy in mid-September. Although I was giddy about it, I assumed a hefty price tag would follow. I was in for another surprise when I found out it would only be 2 bills ($200). I look forward to reading reviews on it before I decide to make the investment. An early downfall I noticed is that it currently covers an area about the size of notebook paper.

While living in South Korea, Brandon Sadler was consumed by an unfamiliar environment struggling to find a balance between work and artistic expression. With Sadler’s grandfather passing and his isolation from living abroad he was motivated to create his most recent body of work, “Red Lotus: The Floating World.”
By utilizing rice paper for its sensitivity and ink for its permanence, Sadler has created a metaphor for life and its actions. Through this unification of these materials, “Red Lotus: The Floating World” articulates his ideas about the change and death of self-image that is essential for enlightenment and the finding of one’s true self.
“When your world is consumed by waves, you can sink or you can float.” – Brandon Sadler

Enjoy your online life, safely from Dave Legion on Vimeo.
This is a viral video by Dave Legion aimed at teaching younger audiences on how to operate safely in this age of information that we live in. The use of the internet is a common practice and the youth are exposed to it earlier and earlier without knowing the power and influence it may have on them in the future.
Be sure to pass this on to your younger peers. Even if you think it’s commonsense to know these things, everyone forgets and could use a quick reminder.

In the work of artist Tony Orrico, the process to the final image is as celebrated as its result. Orrico blends fine art and performance art in a process that begins with a dance and ends with an abstract illustration. In his work, Tony’s body is his instrument. With a pair of pencils and a blank canvas, Tony uses the symmetry of the human form to replicate itself on paper. While the final image can be stunning, the process must be seen to be understood. To craft these images, Orrico lays prone on his canvas, arms outstretched with a pencil in each hand. He rotates his body in full circles while he moves his arms in a range of patterns, many inspired by his surroundings. Orrico has been most active over the last two years, and his gallery exhibitions are growing in number.
