Apple iPod nano with Multi-Touch
Wednesday, September 1st, 2010

This is pretty impressive, Apple is really killing it. If I could only get my MacBook Pro in Powder Blue….

“This is the biggest reinvention of the iPod nano since its debut in 2005, and we think users are going to love it,” said Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO. “Replacing the click wheel with our Multi-Touch interface has enabled us to shrink the iPod nano into an amazingly small design that is instantly wearable with its built-in clip.”

IdeaPaint Dry-Erase Board Paint
Tuesday, August 31st, 2010

I was thinking about getting some of that chalkboard paint for my new studio in Brooklyn, but after discovering Idea Paint, IdeaPaint Dry-Erase Board Paint which can be brushed on to a wall to create a write-board of epic proportions. I think I’m going to have to pass on the dark, gothic feel of a chalkboard covered room. Your ideas and doodles wipe off just like a standard office board, ready to be replaced by newer and better ideas.

Goodbye, Oprah: A Open Fairwell Letter to the Big O
Monday, August 30th, 2010

Dear Oprah,

I’m a nineteen year-old college student and I know you’ll probably never read this, but I sincerely don’t know a world without you. During the broadcast of 2010′s Emmy Awards I was hit with the reality that soon, I will know a world without you. I know on the regular basis you get letters and calls saying how inspiring you are, and believe me you truly are. I just don’t know if you know how you have impacted pop culture for our generation.

Oh, let me count the ways!

Nike x Jordan x Converse Hybrid Shoe [Video]
Tuesday, August 24th, 2010

In an interesting project during the World Basketball Festival, teens produced as part of the Make Something! workshops a Nike x Jordan x Converse Hybrid Shoe.

“Nike’s World Basketball Festival was the first time we saw Converse, Brand Jordan and Nike come together as one. As part of the Make Something!! Workshops, the teens involved in the design classes had the chance to work with Nike designers to create a memorable moment and product, a hybrid shoe combining elements of all 3 basketball brands into one shoe. A first, and a sign of big things to come.”

WTF! BP!: A Overview of What Youth Missed About the BP Oil Spill Crisis
Thursday, August 19th, 2010

I’m 19. In America that gives me free license to be as stupid as I want to be. It’s expected for me to know nothing and do nothing, especially concerning politics and social issues.

To break it down, knowing about politics and social issues is like doing extra credit for a class you already have a B in. Sure, you could do it and do better, but why?

For whatever reason, I never quite grasped that mentality fully, at least not when it comes to current events. Perhaps, I should blame it on the fact of me being raised by a border-line socialist mother who grew up in 60′s New York attending a pro-Black, Black Panther-funded school. Maybe, it’s my father’s constantly playing of Nina Simone and Billie Holiday while discussing the meaning behind Langston Hughes poems. Or maybe, it was just because I read too many Alex Haley books in middle school. Whatever the reason, I always had a deep concern and conscious-ness of the world around me.

That’s why when this BP oil spill ‘thing’ happened, I was utterly ashamed that I didn’t know what was going on. What’s even more embarrassing is I still don’t fully understand the crisis. I don’t even have opinions, just questions because none of this really makes logical sense.

Fame’s Homicide: An Investigation of the Timely Death of Fame & Celebrity
Wednesday, August 18th, 2010

“In the future everyone will be famous for 15 minutes” are words uttered by Andy Warhol. In the realm of reality television, YouTube, and social networks Mr. Warhol was correct in more ways than I even think he expected.

On the dawn of a new decade, anyone who is willing can gain their fifteen minutes of fame in this world. It’s not unrealistic to daydream to be a ‘hot topic’ on “The View” or a fluff story in the pages of “Us Weekly”. In a generation that has seen and done it all from instant porn to the broad casted hanging of a notorious terrorist via YouTube. Any thing’s possible and nothing is impressive.
