Visionary, icon, legendary, brilliant, genius… These are words passed out like Halloween candy in modern times, so when someone is actually privy to brilliance or iconic images we tend to take it with a grain of salt. Quentin Tarantino should not be one of those people. He has influenced and shaped our generation’s view of imagery and dialogue with his brilliant films for over a decade, now. Films like “Pulp Fiction” and “Jackie Brown” made him known for his superb story-telling, attention to detail, taste for violence, and witty dialogue. Recently, a younger generation of followers have emerged with the stylistically, bloody “Kill Bill” series, his installment in “Grindhouse” called “Death Proof” that belongs in every 70′s horror buffs vintage collection, and Oscar-nominated, Brad Pitt-starring “Inglourious Basterds” that gave a different twist to the re-telling of Hitler and the Nazis. Quentin Tarantino’s style has been cited by artists like Kanye West and Fiona Apple as inspiring. You can even see heavy and direct influences in pop-superstar, Lady Gaga’s “Telephone” video with her even snagging the notorious ‘P*ssy Wagon’ for the video. Even if honey buns, killer girls, and bad wigs aren’t your thing, there’s an appreciation you have to have for Tarantino’s work. It’s always inspired and artistic, but he doesn’t forget to keep you entertained. It’s not self-indulgent or made-for-box office. It’s what film should be, thoughtful and entertaining. Here’s a scene from one of his best movies, “Pulp Fiction”, starring Uma Thurman, Samuel L. Jackson, and John Travolta. Check it out, don’t be a square.

So it seems there are plans to reboot the MORTAL KOMBAT film franchise.
This isn’t quite a trailer though. Actress Jeri Ryan, who portrays Sonya Blade in the video, has confirmed via her Twitter that this is a short film created by a director to sell Warner Bros. Ryan also states on her Twitter page,” I did it as a favor to a friend. No idea yet what WB’s reaction to it was.”
French movie realised by Gaspar Noé.
Enter The Void is a wild, hallucinatory mindfuck for adults which sees the director explore new shooting techniques and ambitious special effects to capture a young man’s journey after death.
It takes place in Tokyo where Oscar (a drug dealer) and his sister Linda (a stripper) both live. One night, Oscar get shot by the cops. While he is dying, his spirit (faithful to his sister’s wish which was to never leave her) refuses to quit the living world. His spirit roams then in the city and its visions become more and more chaotic and nightmarish. Oscar’s past, present and future mix in a hallucinatory maelstrom.
If audiences care to, they can lose themselves in Gaspard Noé’s images and trip on his imagination. If they don’t, they will be bored to tears.

This movie is Brilliant! It pretty much blew my fucking mind. Without giving anything way, this movie seemingly calls into question what’s REAL and FAKE art, but at the same time subtlety bitch slapping the very people who pontificate the question it self. This movie is both at the same time a GIANT PRACTICAL JOKE that very profound as-well as thought provoking satire that exposes how full of shit people are… not just “stupid people”, but people e like YOU! It’s a quite humbling experience. VERDICT: MUST SEE!!!

Sequels generally get a bad wrap, rightful so, cause more times than not they suck pretty hard. Allot time most “sequels” are not even sequels at all, more like “series” poorly linked together movie franchises that are both un-wanted and unnecessary (see: Fast and the Furious). The Descent: Part 2 doesn’t at all suffer from the pitfalls of a shitty sequel, actually it might be better than the original…. wait, no it’s not, but still good. They story is an immediate continuation of the first film, as a rescue team is being sent back in to the caves to find the missing women that were tragically ripped to bits, all but one lone survivor, Sarah (from the first film). Sarah got a case of amnesia, so she is of no help warning the new cast that they are walking into a world of hurt with even less weapons than the original movie, which makes for HIGHER TENSION. Oh, This movie is more darker, more brutal, and definitely more BLOODIER than the first. NO CGI blood in this movie (see: Ninja Assassins) but just old school blood and guts from the special f/x department.

The Upside: The movie keeps the same spirit of the first movie by playing to the same audience, and avoids excess, THE BIGGER and BETTER approach to sequels, and sticking with the basics. It’s extremely Brutal, Violent, and Intense, cus that’s what the people like. Right?
The Downside: The movie production is pretty good, for such a low budget movie. But there are few CGI shots that look pretty shitty, but other than that this movie is on point.
The Verdict: Shit is TIGHT, SON!

Fli Pelican is a lifestyle brand that originally started out as a small t-shirt line with a bit more passion and thought than the other’s. It quickly snow-balled into something bigger with celebrities like Teyana Taylor, G-Mack and Travis Porter dawning his t-shirts.
Most see brands like Fli Pelican and believe they came out of nowhere, but there’s always a struggle that matches the story. Nino (the designer and creator of Fli Pelican) invites us to the Fli Pelican studio in the heart of Atlanta to talk fashion, life, art, music, Amber Rose and Marc Jacobs.
Walking into the driveway of his studio is something like a set of a movie. The whole downstairs is a working factory with shirts, designs, and machines everywhere. A bulky man with lengthy dreads and an petite and attractive woman pressing shirts like a Vietnamese sweatshop, but it looks like they’re having more fun and better dressed, quite frankly. We walk upstairs into a huge studio and office space with Fli Pelican designs against white walls and the sun blairing through the long windows, playfully bouncing off wood-paneled floors. Shirts, papers, and apparel are neatly stacked everywhere on shelves. It’s reminiscent of Warhol’s Factory revisited, but with a Hip-Hop disposition that is fresh and quirky.
Myself and the Greedmont team sits on the comfortable leather coaches parallel to the man of the hour, Nino. With only art-books and opportunity between us, I dive right into the good stuff with the prolific CEO and designer.
