Sampha re-releases Sundanza EP

Tuesday, January 21, 2014 by | No Comments | Category: Music, RnB/Jazz/Soul

This is a dope surprise! Sampha is letting listeners delve deeper into his catalogue today with the digital re-release of his 2010 Sundanza EP, originally available as a limited pressing on Young Turks

“Sundanza is a collection of early productions of mine. While away on some adventures away from home my brother accidentally deleted the master files from my computer so they exist only as low quality unmastered mp3s. It was originally released on very limited hand sprayed CD-R’s in 2010, but I decided to make it available again with all income going directly to the Youth Cancer Trust.” -Sampha

R.I.P. Lord Infamous of Three 6 Mafia

Saturday, December 21, 2013 by | No Comments | Category: Gossip, Music, Rap

There isn’t much info out there about this right now, but Lord Infamous, DJ Paul’s brother and original member of Three 6 Mafia and the newly formed Da Mafia 6ix has passed away. The news was confirmed by Gangsta Boo via Twitter.

Ricky Dunigan (November 17, 1975 – December 21, 2013), better known by his stage name Lord Infamous AKA Scarecrow, is the pioneer of Gangster-Horrorcore style of rap, many rappers still use today. He was always considered as being the darker member of the group, with his lyrics touching on occult subject matters such as satanism & mass murder. Our Prayers to go out to DJ Paul and his family.

For Mondays On The Moon, Houston Headwrecka Doughbeezy released a comical visual to “Ridin Round,” a track that would have been great for the Summer. Nonetheless, the chiming bells in the instrumental should ring in the new year. Doughbeezy’s much anticipated, “Footprints On The Moon,” will be available January 14, 2014.

Michael Christmas – “Michael Cera” [Video]

Wednesday, December 4, 2013 by | No Comments | Category: Music Video, Rap

Came across Boston up and comer, Michael Christmas the other day. I love this guy’s creativity with the visuals. This video is directed by the busy director, Goodwin (Young Thug, Rome Fortune, Zip K, Peewee Longway). Although he has a monotone delivery, I’m still interested to hear more from Mr. Christmas and what he brings to the table, but as long he stays true to himself and keeps his creativity and vision in tact he will be ok. Keep a close ear and eye out for the kid.
