Within the past year, or since the forefront of the collective (which they probably wouldn’t admit to), rap duo, EarthGang (comprised of Johnny Venus and Doctur Dot), graduated from Hampton University in 2012, I don’t know if I’ve seen a buzz grow so quickly for hip hop artists in Atlanta (Outside of Trinidad Jame$ of course) like I have with Spillage Village, a collective of musicians, executives, PR, and more. The rise of Spillage Village can be credited to everyone involved but we all know the talent is what brings the attention. The most known at the current time consists of EarthGang and J.I.D (out of Atlanta), JordxnBryant, and Hollywood JB (both from the Maryland area). This year, especially in Atlanta, Spillage Village, with EarthGang and J.I.D leading the way, are definitely the hurricane a lot of people didn’t see coming. So now, let’s not hog ‘The Spill’ to ourselves, it’s ok to spill(age)-the-beans. (more…)
