[Video] Amber Rose Gets Sensitive Sally

Sway always comes through with the best interviews with artists, although I don’t think i could ever label Ms. Rose as such. On RAPFIXlive Amber Rose breaks down into boo-hoo tears expressing her bottled-up pain over Kanye’s fans bullying her in the streets. She literally has to pause and try to collect herself, while Sway is being hilarious with his “take yah time, take yah time” uncle-of-comfort comments.

“I’m crying because I don’t deserve to be bullied like that. Like, I’m a nice girl, I don’t bother anybody, and I keep my mouth shut because I don’t want any trouble.”

Still trying to figure out this girl’s purpose of significance?–yeah, same here.

Behind the Iconic Photo [Photography]

Sunday, May 1, 2011 by | No Comments | Category: Art, Music, Photography

Now, it’s nothing new to most that Amber Rose’s photo shoot with Complex last year was inspired by Grace Jones’ 1985 compilation album, Island Life. I’ll admit, it was news to me. It was clearly before my time. However, I found the process behind Grace Jone’s photo shoot quite interesting. (more…)

As most of you know the deadline for Greedmont’s Badass Art Battle is approaching this SUNDAY. Being that I can’t win since I’m judging the competition, I figured I’d share my entry today! So ya’ll can see the level of shit you’ll be competing against! We got some really good entries from talented artist, along with shitty ones… So you better come with that fiyah!

We are still seeking graphic artist & illustrators for upcoming “TOTALLY BADASS” art competition. We are looking for the baddest, meanest, no-holds bar artists around to create some hot shit that would make Chuck Norris blush.

[Theme:] Design a mash-up of Tron inspired movie poster advocating the reckless drinking and drug use. (drug-free entries will be automatically disqualified.) It will be called Tron: Inebracy… a World were everyone is wasted! For a closer look (more…)

Myles’ Music Review: Kanye West – “My Beautiful, Dark Twisted Fantasy”

Friday, November 26, 2010 by | No Comments | Category: Music, Rap

Kanye West is something like a super-hero to rap music listeners (his fans even call him ‘God’). A few self-induced, unfortunate events made him more of a super-villain to the mainstream public. The result is “My Beautiful, Dark Twisted Fantasy”, a album that can be taken as a hero’s woes or a villain’s trials. Either way, it’s a album wrapped with beautiful songs that are progressive enough for fans of “808′s & Heartbreak” and hard-hitting for fans of retro-Kanye that we came to know and love with “College Dropout” and “Late Registration”. Songs like “Dark Fantasy” and “Runaway” are atmospheric journeys tip-toeing around painful honesty. Songs like “Devil In A New Dress”, “Power” and “Monster” drive the album, however. The tunes are almost like witnessing with your ears “new, cultured Kanye” going back to the Louis Vouitton Don and showing him how great he can really be on a intense 808 or sped-up soul sample. There are appearances by the likes of Jay-Z, Kid Cudi, Rick Ross, Rihanna and Nicki Minaj but the album always feel like Kanye West’s brainchild, never compromising to other artist’s sensibilities for a mili-second. Some tracks lag into self-pleasuring, psychedelic streams of consciousness that can be thrown away or at the lest shortened. Those are minor speed bumps on the fantasy ride, though. No matter how dark or twisted you believe Kanye West is, you must admit his fantasies are some of the best Hip-Hop cuts this side of the decade.

4 out of 5

Go-to tracks: “Dark Fantasy”, “Monster”

Skip tracks: “Lost In The World”
