Last week, the folks over at Red Tag Society had the opportunity to chop it up with A$AP Rocky for their new series, Cut & Sew. In the first episode, they catch up with this year’s BET AWARDS – Best New Artist nominee A$AP Rocky at Direct Drive Record Pool Listening Lounge at Bar 7 in Washington, DC. Beyonce aired a mini-documentary on BET, VH1, MTV, Centric on the journey to the album “4″ a few days ago and it really put another perspective on this album set to release. Its been a while since I seen one of these from her, so it was a tad bit refreshing. Personally, Beyonce has always been a favorite but the last song she released wasn’t my favorite. BUT, after this documentary it definitely put another perspective on the album.

Alot of great artists been surfacing from Atlanta lately and with very unique sounds. Not the average, sound like me junk, but something “totally out of this world”, as Heed describes their music. Big Heed and Alien are the LMFAO plus Three 6 Mafia of 2011. Things kicked off when they made there appearance on BET’s 106 and Park and now they have a deal with Battery Record/Jive Label Group. From a childhood dream to your dreams finally becoming a reality, this is another great example of how hard-work pays off.

Recently, Jabari scored a deal with BET to start a web-series, where he does what he does best… (interviewing). He’s been traveling all around the country interviewing your favorite artists and asking questions you want answered. This is a good look for BET and they should definitely consider taking this into a television series. I am I right?

2010 was a pretty stellar year for bringing creativity back into music videos, a lot of directors was inspired to push the boundaries on what’s acceptable and what is taboo. Nothing sells like a little controversy, and in 2010, recording artists seemed more willing than ever to raise eyebrows with disturbing and sexually explicit imagery, some of which was even banned from MTV, Youtube and various other networks.
