When you think of Chicago’s Hip Hop scene, usually only four MC’s come to your mind: Kanye West, Common, Lupe Fiasco and Twista. Of course, there are others like D.O.D., Rhymefest, Consequence, Da’ Brat and GLC, but as far as the sound of Chicago is concerned, the first three are what Hip Hop fans recognize. There is a certain soulful sound that Chicago has always had, but in 2012, the Windy City has presented a whole new sound and class that has never been heard or seen from the city. Rappers like the 16 year old, dread-swingin’, Chief Keef (BANG! BANG!), King Louie, and the young 20 year old spitter, Rockie Fresh, and definitely can’t forget the OG’s L.E.P. Bogus Boys, are just a few that are leading the way. (more…)
