I liked this video before I pressed ‘Play.’ Seductive gold painted figures intrigued me. Bending, contorting, embracing as the music transpired.

Pegasus Warning is a four-piece band fronted by former NYU music professor, Guillermo Brown. The video, directed by the talented Wangechi Mutu, captured the essence of lovemaking while inspired by Rodin’s classic French sculptures. Pegasus Warning recently released their EP, Woof Ticket, and expect their LP to be released in June.

“Beauty Trapped in the Dark”, also going by the name “Beaute Piegee dans la Noirceur”, features the highly popularized “cross tee” created by the homie Jalil Peraza. This latest short film, takes a dark, almost sentimental look on the significant image of the cross. The entire video leaves you wondering its creative impact. Featuring Jalil Peraza, Great Scott, Frendy Lemorin, and Peter Eliason. Part Two is on its way.

Directed, Produced, & Edited by Simon Davis.

Even though I don’t understand french (just a little); this song has a nice ring to it… and story-line. Wish I understood what it meant though. (laugh) The title, when keyed into google translate, means “A Love to the Rhyme”. I really don’t know if that’s accurate. But this is the 3rd single from the album, “Open Mik”, which is set to release Spring 2012. The CD scratch technique was dope.

Joy Of Destruction.

I often find humor within the numerous ironies of the world. Some call it having a weird sense of humor. Regardless, I chuckled at this. The message in this paper collage stop motion animation by Xaver Xylophon with Laura Junger is unique and surprisingly entertaining. The film is about “the human drive to destroy and the absurd entertaining value that’s attached to it.” The song, covered by what I assume is French lyrics, adds an overall mellow tone.
