I’d been hearing a lot talk about Stevie Williams building some skate complex here in Atlanta back in 09.
This is pretty dope, not a hole lot of skateparks in GA and, besides The Foundation none that I know of in the city.
It’ll be good for the skaters to have another place to skate.

With bundles of hard copies coming fresh off the press and being packaged to be distributed across America (more specifically NY, LA, and ATL). I am proud to present you the first issue of Greedmont Magazine! A free bimonthly publication we’ve been working on extensively with our team “bloggers” over the past month to put together. In the beginning I didn’t think it was possible, but everyone agreed it was time to take the blog to the next level by turning it into a magazine. The first issue features interviews Fefe Dobson along with Fool’s Gold artist, Kid Sister and A-Trak; and with some of our favorite local artist like Brandon Sadler and Carla Aaron-Lopez. Enjoy!

Greg Mike is an artist who has mastered conflation of high and low art through his unique use pop culture imagery. Along with a majority of young artist today, he originally has a background in graffiti, but after studying studio art at FSU he has taken on fine art, graphic design, fashion, and commercial branding. Most infamously known for his Popstars and Cokeheads series, where he transformed an army of soda cans into chromatic characters and creatures, he says “I hope to finish 150 by the end of the summer and I don’t plan on stopping until I’m laying in the casket.” Last week I finally got a chance to talk with him about his inspirations, upcoming projects, and everyday life.

I finally got a hold of some pics of Greg Mike’s solo show at Kai Lin Gallery in Atlanta(courtesy of Oh Snap Kid!). I had a chance to check out the opening reception, it was insane! Packed with full with art lovers, amazing installations, and free alcohol. I was definitely impressed, I even had a chance encounter with the woman of my dreams, Suchitha, from Fox 5′s Good Day Atlanta… Lol, but here ya’ll go, check out the pics…
