I recall early mornings waiting on my mother to get ready to go to work and drop me off to school in New York. There, admiring my single, working mother I gained essential fashion rules. More times than not, I find myself breaking those rules like a true style renegade. I wear black with brown, I mix prints, and sometimes if the mood is right I stack on more instead of taking things off. However, some things have never been shattered by my rebellion. My mother told me that accessories are the cornerstone of any fashionista’s closet and shoes are the punctuation to every outfit.
With that being embedded in me as a child like the pledge of allegiance, it makes sense that designer and visionary, Melody Ehsani is someone who I had to sit-down with and get to know a little better.
Melody Ehsani is the designer behind some of the hot accessories you see being rocked by Beyonce, Jazmine Sullivan, Keri Hilson, and Nicki Minaj. Her bold, imaginative accessories are also paired with equally breath-taking shoes that balance beautifully between feminine elegance and modern funk. It’s no surprise that Melody Ehsani is as sweet and interesting as her designs.

MTV and HBO endorsed music producers, artists, and DJs Christian Rich have proven that they are truly a duo soon to take over the musical world, with talent that has effortlessly caught the eye of music mogul, Pharrell Williams. The duo produces a sound that has everyone in the industry talking, with aneclectic fusion of electronica, pop, R&B, and hip-hop; Gaining much of their musical knowledge from their work and remixes with such artists as The Noisettes, Lil’ Kim, The Clipse, Young Gunz, Foxy Brown, GLC and Lupe Fiasco’s electro band Hey Champ.
The design of the shirt interprets the background of Christian Rich’s video for “Famous Girl”, which portrays the life that everyone dreams to have, but they do not comprehend the risks and negative aspects, blinded by a false image of a lifestyle full of fame and wealth. Artist, Parra has collaborated with Vans and created three very exciting sneakers. The Era, Chukka & Sk8-Hi.
After watching Big Sean’s video below, you can see how the art styles are similar; simple lines and bold color schemes. These sneaks, are currently available at Karmaloop, $52 for the Era. And SK8-Hi, and Chukka running at $65.
Also check out the musical side of Parra, LeLe is his band.

After seeing Tunde’s and Goldi Gold’s design for Karmaloop’s Cool Kids T-shirt design contest, I had to go something myself. I didn’t really have much time to work on it, but I still wanted to create something that was classically dope.
