When you hear the term “Dorm Fucking Music” what do you think of? If it doesn’t give some type of explicit, exciting, and funny memory, you may need to relive your freshman and/or sophomore year of college. For Alex Jacke, his college experience was enough to inspire his debut project, D.F.M (Dorm Fucking Music). With the help of legendary producer Lancey Stewart, who helped him land a publishing deal with Music Gallery/Universal Music Publishing Group, Alex is quickly becoming the next major R&B star. I liked this video before I pressed ‘Play.’ Seductive gold painted figures intrigued me. Bending, contorting, embracing as the music transpired.
Pegasus Warning is a four-piece band fronted by former NYU music professor, Guillermo Brown. The video, directed by the talented Wangechi Mutu, captured the essence of lovemaking while inspired by Rodin’s classic French sculptures. Pegasus Warning recently released their EP, Woof Ticket, and expect their LP to be released in June.

Trust me. We at Greedmont Park truly understand what can result from hard work. Mach Five just completed their Ratchet Shit Trilogy in 2 months. With little time to celebrate, and before I knew it, they were already shooting their video for “Turn Up Juice.” Word of the Day/Month/Year: Werk.
Since winning the 2012 SXSW Coast 2 Coast in March, I haven’t seen Houston lyricist Onehunnidt celebrating much. Sure, he did host a number of events at some known hot spots, but even then he was putting in “werk.” Even after the amount of recognition on his “Keep It 100″ mixtape and a number of mentions by the Houston Press, Onehunnidt has continued to release new tracks and relevant videos that complement the project. The latest, directed by Coreigh Terry, being “Werk.”
Forget what they told you. Life is a marathon, not a sprint. Jesse Owens and Usain Bolt never quit after their first win. How many total miles would you say they have ran? Werk.

Dallas based Sore Losers released their new video “Group Economics” in the clutch for Juneteenth. I didn’t see many videos that followed their example, but that’s neither here nor there. No soapbox here.

Even though I don’t understand french (just a little); this song has a nice ring to it… and story-line. Wish I understood what it meant though. (laugh) The title, when keyed into google translate, means “A Love to the Rhyme”. I really don’t know if that’s accurate. But this is the 3rd single from the album, “Open Mik”, which is set to release Spring 2012. The CD scratch technique was dope.
