Honolulu based Rock/Punk trio FallsStart release his first independent music video for “Requiem” off their 2nd CD releasing on August 10, 2012, a 6 track CD appropriately titled “Our Summer” taking inspiration from modern punk, alternative and classic rock, the release contains fusions of genres, even featuring violins on some few tracks, in the video the trio are stationed in a parking lot and other clips sees the band on the railroad, great song. Following the success of their debute CD “Casus Incipient”, FallsStart are planning a tour accross the Eastern states to celebrate the release. For more information visit www.fallsstart.com.
“We have influences from everywhere – The Beatles, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Clapton, Skynyrd, up to the new stuff like Yellowcard, Story of the Year, Taking Back Sunday, and Paramore. We take all of these influences and mesh them together the best we can,” says Davey Leatherwood, FallsStart’s singer, guitarist and violinist, who first met guitarist Adrian Cottmeyer in 2006 while stationed in South Korea on active duty for the United States Air Force. The band uniquely find time for their music and friendships in between service in the United States Military. Cottmeyer is still active duty.

Ari’Jo’s Pre-release Listening Party – [Write Up]

Yesterday, I and Greedmont Park were invited to a Pre-release party for a new singer/songwriter from Georgia, named Ari’Jo’s (pronounced Air-ree-Joe) project, Euphoria. It was held at the intimate lounge Arif Café on the north side of Atlanta. When I arrived, the setting was calm but everyone was excited to be there. The bubbly Ari’Jo was working the room, thanking everyone for coming out and showing support. I was made aware that this was her first project released to the public. I was extremely curious to see what she was made of. (more…)
