We just launched our online store this week, and when it came to our first line of merchandise I figured nothing would be more epic to get a design from international Tattoo Artist and one of my personal mentors, Miya Bailey. I’ve always been a fan of his style of calligraphy and really wanted he would do with the letters from “Greedmont Park”. The Greedmont by Miya Bailey[$22] shirts are available for females now HERE!
“I wanted the letters to flow like weed smoke, I like to watch the smoke dance through the air… So I watched that pattern the smoke made as I read a few articles on Greedmont for inspiration and copied the trail of smoke on paper. I just let the pen move. No thoughts. Just smoke, ink and inspiration.” -Miya Bailey

The film is the brainchild of one of the world’s most widely recognized black tattoo artists; Miya Bailey. For over 5 years the idea has always been in his head to create a film that not only sheds light on the artform, but also allows the artform to be represented in the right way. There are a lot of stigmas attached to black tattoo artists and their side of the culture; ranging from a lack of creativity to overall poor quality of work. This in turn has lead to artists from other backgrounds and those in the black community choosing to take their business elsewhere in search of quality work.
This is amazing, thanks to Kickstarter.com Miya Bailey has been able to raise over $11,000 in the past 2 weeks for the film. I’ll be one of the artist featured in the movie so if you support me or if your a fan of my work, please help by making a donation here. anything helps from a dollar to $1000. (more…)
