The power of the internet never ceases to amaze me. In a culture where “social networking” can often leave you overwhelmed with information and yet still unconnected. It was for this reason that I was happy to have been followed by the Couch Brothers.
I was instantly attracted to Electric Gypsy 2.1′s artwork. I hadn’t heard of the duo before, but the name reminded me of Devin The Dude’s Coughee Brothers. That is about as far as the comparisons went. The introduction track was “Time,” a smooth and soulful ballad that my uncle would jam, followed by “No One Cares,” a lyrical joint that reminded me of Black Thought of The Roots. This project incorporated many genres of music with precision. When Rock visited the Orchestra in “She (Hard Lovin’),” I was aware I was dealing with some hardcore music lovers.

The Roots continue releasing classic albums. Undun is no different. The Roots dropped this short film previewing 5 tracks from their latest album. Clifton Bell did a sick job producing this film, telling a story of a boy over a period of 1990-1999. Dopeness.

Nice concept. Nice tracklist. Nice release date [September 21st]. Nice collab. This album is def a must buy for every music junkie!!!
1. Compared to What
2. Hard Times
3. Little Ghetto Boy
4. Wake Up Everybody featuring Common & Melanie Fiona **first single**
5. Our Generation
6. Love the Way It Should Be
7. Hang On In There
8. I Can’t Write Left Handed
9. Wholy Holy
10. I Wish I Knew How It Would Feel to Be Free
11. Shine
Legend’s thoughts on the concept of the first single: “These songs sound so relevant now,” stated Legend. “On most of them, you wouldn’t change a lyric. ‘Wake Up Everybody’ has four verses–the first one is a general statement, the second is about education, third is about health care, and the fourth is about making a better environment. No editing needed.” –Rap-Up
UPDATE: Download Wake Up
