I like how Austin MC Kydd’s “The Righteous LP’s” artwork is full of trippy, unsavory things. Released on July 31st, I wanted to give this 3 solid listens before I said anything. I liked it after the first. Kydd’s production continues to impress me. I still think somebody should have rapped over that dope intro. There wasn’t as many tracks on here as his “Sounds In My Head Pt. 2″ released in March, but it still had some nice featured artists. Listen to “Texas Heat.” It’s going to be my go-to track for the next few Summers!

This rapping and producing duo from from Houston have been out since 2008 and I haven’t heard of them. Houston should really feel ashamed. (This is where I go off on a rant about the lack of unity in Texas, but was edited due to length.) From the instrumentation to the sample choices, I can tell TRAVISXJASON are lovers of music. I remember talking to the homie Mike Red about versatility and longevity in music a few weeks ago. Since I’ve recently been put on game, here’s their background:
“New age producers / artists TRAVISXJASON or better known by their fans as Travis Scott and Jason Eric reside in Houston ,TX. The duo since mid 2008 have cranked out several hot mixtapes the most recent being “BUDDYXRICH” which got rave reviews. Since then they have had the local population in frenzy patiently awaiting the lastest upcoming release “TRAVISXJASON CRUIS’N THE USA”. For the many in the know if asked they would probably respond by saying that TRAVISXJASON are,” unsigned hype that are grassroots, all original, and have a style and flare all their own.” The intensity and professionalism that these two bring to their production and performance is executed so well, that it is quite hard to believe that they have had only three years to perfect their craft. Their catchy beats and dumbfounding lyrics are sure to please listeners of many genres as well as keep them eager for more.” – TravisXJason.com
