Zulu Faz – The Hill Complex [Mixtape]

Zimbabwean-born rapper and producer Zulu Faz has come together with The DJBooth, Greedmontpark and The Jeanocide to bring listeners his latest street album, The Hill Complex.
Named after the spiritual center of the ruined city of Great Zimbabwe, the project finds the artist using the historic structure as a metaphor for his quest to build a name for himself in the game. The set features 12 original cuts (plus one bonus track), Joining Zulu Faz on the guest tip throughout The Hill Complex are Amadi Jae, Tawny Powell, John Anthony, A.Ware, Session and Young Jay. In addition to beats by the artist himself (both individually and as one-half of duo Kaotiq Simfoni, made up of Zulu and brother Zimbabwe Kev), the project features guest beats by Javis FauX, Session and Megaboy Alpha. With the project dropping on Monday, April 30th. We felt it was only right to release “Cruise Control” For a young man who has been rapping for a year and some change I feel that Zulu is getting better and I encourage everybody to tune in on Monday when we drop the project at noon. 2012 is shaping up!! I’ve been busy with a million endeavors but Zulu Faz is one of my top priorities. What started off as a simple freestyle from Zulu and John Anthony turned into a simple video with the help of some good friends. So we thought we should drop this as we are gearing up for the 1st official single for the new mixtape “The Hill Complex” which will drop in about 3 or 4 weeks. Meanwhile we’ll just keep dropping these freestyles to warm everybody up before we drop some heat. Peep the track and download link below!

My brother Zulu Faz and I worked on this project late last year where we meshed two of our hiphop living legend’s greatest pieces of work, Nas’ God’s Son album (2002) and Jay-Z’s The Black Album (2003) to create a seamlessly flawless compilation complete with fresh production. I was just reflecting on the work done in the past year or so; I am pretty amazed and happy that we got to do this project. If you haven’t heard it yet peep the download link below.

During Atlanta’s recent A3C Hip Hop Festival, Grooveshark teamed up with the legendary Stankonia Studios and the Royal Flush/SMKA production team to create an exclusive mixtape. The mixtape features original songs from artists playing the festival as well as some hometown heroes, and will be available November 16 to stream for free exclusively on Grooveshark. The tracks will be accompanied by several behind the scenes videos featuring the artists and production teams creating the songs from start to finish. Artists who participated in the project include 9th Wonder, Killer Mike, the Ying Yang Twins, Rapsody, Freeway, Thurzday, and many more.

Finally the project is here, this is great because this project was somewhat therapeutic to the main parties involved. It all started after someone broke into Session’s crib and stole his equipment! Zulu Faz and I offered Session who is also a very dope producer by the way our production services and this turned into 2020 Vision. I don’t really have much to say but this is a foundation that we are creating for the future. People will always look back or discover this project and realize the vision has been there since the beginning.
