Its a shame that blatant police brutality towards blacks and minorities still exists in our communities. Its also a shame that so many cases from Oscar Grant, Sean Bell, Amadou Diallo and 92 year old Kathryn Johnson have never been brought to justice. Without getting too political I wish more rappers would do what Pharoahe has done with this mini movie clip; by releasing this clip he shows us that we need to address these issues as a community in order to implement changes. “Clap (one day)” is directed by Terence Nance and will be available on iTunes with the purchase of Pharoahe Monch’s new album W.A.R.

If you ever want to be inspired you should visit www.ted.com, its an amazing website with videos from people of various walks of life that have inspirational messages. Today I just wanted to highlight JR who is a street artist whose work I’ve been checking out for a little while now. So I was up at like 5am today mixing and when my ears start to act a fool I just try to find some form of inspiration so as usual I went to Ted.com and behold I saw that JR was the 2011 TED Prize winner. They did a great write up on him which you can check out here —> http://www.tedprize.org/jr-2011-ted-prize-winner/. Its just really great to see street artists get their proper due.
